When working with Kitchen Encounters, you’re working with our team, not just an individual. We have the staff and resources to be responsive to your needs throughout the project. Our team of trained design professionals collaborates with some of the area’s finest architects, builders, and interior designers to fulfil the dreams of homeowners of all varieties of style and budget.

Mark T. White, CKD, CBD
Owner/Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer

The family enterprise is known for unique and creative designs, quality products, and exceptional service. Mark developed the Interactive Design Process to ensure the very best results for customers’ projects.

He has received numerous design awards and his projects have appeared on HGTV and in national and regional publications. He served as a judge for the NKBA and other industry competitions, and served on the Board of Directors for the NKBA. Mark has been an active member of the Baltimore Washington’s Chapter of the NKBA and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005.Mark helped develop and taught the Kitchen & Bath Design course at Anne Arundel Community College. He regularly travels to teach seminars at other chapters, conferences, and colleges, and also for out of state design projects.




Tracy McGuinness, AKBD
Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer

Tracy has long been inspired by great design. A graduate of the University of Virginia, she had a successful first career in the corporate world before deciding to pursue her passion for interiors full time. She went back to school and completed the NKBA-supported program at Anne Arundel Community College then joined the team at Kitchen Encounters.

Tracy brings her unique combination of creative thinking and technical, analytical skills to her design projects. She believes in putting clients first, listening carefully then following through to create beautiful, functional spaces that will stand the test of time.




Brittany Reeves, AKBD
Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer

Brittany is a graduate from East Carolina University, where she earned a degree in Interior Design and a minor in Business Administration. She completed her college internship at Kitchen Encounters in 2008 and has now joined the team as a Kitchen and Bath Designer.

Recently moving back to her hometown from Virginia Beach, she offers insight from various other design companies. Brittany thoroughly enjoys working with clients to meet their unique lifestyle needs and solve design problems.




Cathy Terranova
Designer

Cathy joined Kitchen Encounters after receiving her Associates Degree in Interior Design from Anne Arundel Community College. This career change comes after receiving her undergraduate degree from Susquehanna University and her MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and spending many years in the consumer products industry.

Cathy believes design is not just about creating beautiful spaces but creating lifestyles and that listening and problem solving are the most important things in helping clients achieve both.

Cathy has received multiple student design awards and has served as the NKBA Student Chapter President at Anne Arundel Community College.

Shane M. Silverman, CKD
Certified Kitchen Designer

Shane has eleven years of experience as a kitchen and bath designer, using a collective design process to connect with clients by taking an in-depth look at a variety of concepts to design the kitchen and/or bath of their dreams.

Since graduating from East Carolina University, a FIDER accredited university (Foundation for Interior Design Education Research) with a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design and Merchandising, Shane has immersed herself in the industry and has been featured as a designer and contributing author in numerous national and regional publications. Being customer centric, she creates a smooth transition from design, to cabinet selection, through the installation process.
